Swimming lesson fees in Singapore

Published Swim2u rates for every programme, plus what really changes the price and how to compare swim schools.

Swimming lesson prices in Singapore vary a lot between schools. The price depends on who is learning, how many people share the coach, how long each lesson is, and where it happens. Below are Swim2u's published rates, followed by what actually drives the cost so you can compare programmes fairly.

What affects swimming lesson prices

Number of learners

The biggest factor. Sharing a coach with one or two others lowers the cost per person, as the table shows. See private vs group lessons.

Learner type

Adult, ladies and special needs lessons usually cost more than kids' lessons because they need more specialised coaching or a specific instructor.

Lesson length

Compare cost per minute, not just per lesson. A 30-minute lesson and a 45-minute lesson at the same price are not the same value.

Location

Public pools may add entry fees. Condo lessons save you travel but depend on your condo's rules.

Instructor

Certification, experience and specialism (for example, special needs or female instructors) all influence price.

Frequency

Two lessons a week means a block of four is used in two weeks rather than a month, so monthly spend doubles even if the rate doesn't.

What to compare between swim schools

  • Price per lesson and lesson length
  • Maximum group size, and whether groups are sorted by ability
  • Coach certifications and who actually teaches
  • Whether pool entry is included
  • Make-up lesson and rain policy
  • How progress is tracked, for example against SwimSafer stages

Is private worth the extra cost?

For nervous beginners and adults starting from zero, often yes, at least at the start. Confident children usually do well in small groups. Read private swimming lessons or how many lessons you'll need to estimate your total budget.
